JunkBuddy Inc. ("JunkBuddy", "we", "us") operates the JunkBuddy platform: a marketplace connecting customers with independent junk removal drivers ("Buddies"). JunkBuddy is not a junk removal service; we facilitate transactions between independent Buddies and customers.
By using JunkBuddy you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are a Buddy, you also agree to the Buddy Service Agreement. You must be at least 18 to use the platform.
When you book a pickup you authorize us to pre-authorize your card for the quoted amount. Final charges settle when the pickup is complete. Cancellations before a Buddy accepts are free; after acceptance, a $10 cancellation fee applies.
Buddies will not haul hazardous materials (chemicals, batteries, medical waste), live animals, illegal items, or anything they reasonably deem unsafe. Some items (paint, e-waste, tires) trigger a hazmat surcharge disclosed before booking.
Prices include a base rate, distance-to-dump surcharge, add-on modifiers (stairs, heavy items, hazmat), and a platform service fee. Tipping fees at transfer stations are passed through and included in your quote. Tips are 100% pass-through to the Buddy.
Buddies carry their own vehicle insurance. JunkBuddy maintains a platform insurance policy covering property damage caused by a Buddy during pickup up to CAD $5,000 per incident. File claims within 48 hours at claims@junkbuddy.io with photos and a description.
Customers rate Buddies after every pickup; Buddies rate customers. Ratings must be honest and not defamatory. Buddies below a 4.6-star rolling average are removed from the platform.
You will not: use the platform for illegal purposes, harass other users, evade platform fees by transacting off-platform, misrepresent your identity, or attempt to compromise the platform's security.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for conduct we determine harms other users or the platform. You may close your account at any time by writing to hi@junkbuddy.io.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JunkBuddy is not liable for consequential, incidental, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of CAD $500 or the amounts paid to us in the six months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Disputes will be resolved in Ontario courts.
